DISA Announces DoD Mobility Capability, 2.0 for Android/Samsung Knox

DISA Releases 2014-2019 Strategic Plan

The Defense Information Systems Agency released the agency's 2014-2019 Strategic Plan May 12. This updated strategy replaces the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan and rescinds the earlier DISA 2012 Campaign Plan.

DISA Releases DoD Enterprise Portal Service 2.0 for Classified Network

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) delivered version 2.0 of the DoD Enterprise Portal Service (DEPS) on the Secret Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNet) Feb. 28.

DEPS 2.0 introduces both dedicated and shared service offerings. The environments allow mission partners the flexibility to select the offering that best supports their mission from a range of capacity and storage options.


DoD Awards Joint Enterprise License Agreement for Adobe Products

FORT GEORGE G. MEADE, Md. – The Department of Defense recently entered into a three-year, $40.5 million joint enterprise license agreement (JELA) with CDW-G for Adobe products, effectively leveraging the buying power of 2.6 million DoD personnel with the Army, Air Force, and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The department's second JELA — with goals similar to its first in December 2012 for Microsoft products — seeks to reduce costs and improve interoperability, collaboration, document services, and publishing capabilities, and supports combatant command headquarters for which the Army and Air Force are the executive agents.

Air Force Headquarters has completed the transition to Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Email (DEE) — the department's secure, cloud-based email solution.


DISA Announces Initial Release v1.0 of DoD Unclassified Mobility Capability

The new year will bring new mobile capabilities to as many as 100,000 DOD users. DOD will begin deploying version 1.0 of the unclassified mobility capability Jan. 31 and will build out capacity to support up to 100,000 users by the end of the fiscal year.

Defense Connect Online to Launch Update Oct. 20

Defense Connect Online (DCO) version 2.0 will be available for unclassified use throughout the DoD on Oct. 20. The upgrade features an updated user interface; the ability to register for an account and login with a Common Access Card (CAC); and the reintroduction of a single URL to create, host, and manage meetings.


RADM David Simpson Reflects on DISA Tenure and Envisions Agency's Future

"I have always been a DISA fan," said DISA Vice Director RADM David G. Simpson, reflecting on his 31 year career in the U.S. Navy. "There's not a deployment that I've been on that I did not realize the importance of DISA's mission and its relationship to the success of whatever operational unit or units I was responsible for." Simpson, who will soon retire from the uniformed service, recently reflected on his tenure as the vice director of DISA, a position he has held since July 1, 2011.
