The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory was awarded an Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity contract by the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization – National Capital Region. DISA Acquisitions Enterprise Licensing Agreement Program Management Office serves as the Program Manager for the ID/IQ.
The ID/IQ has a maximum ceiling value of $250 million over its five-year ordering period. The scope includes all Defense Department’s 4th Estate Agencies and Field Activities as well as the U.S. Combatant Commands. The contract delivers immediate operational advantages to the government through APL's advanced scenario modeling, operations research and unbiased systems assessments. DAFAs and CCMDs worldwide gain critical capabilities to validate concepts, optimize strategies and deploy field-ready solutions with unprecedented confidence and reduced risk.
As a University Affiliated Research Center, APL provides the government with independent, cost-effective engineering expertise and rapid technology deployment without commercial bias. The government directly benefits from cutting-edge cyber resilience tools, autonomous systems, real-time operational analytics and decision optimization capabilities that significantly enhance battlefield readiness while reducing acquisition timelines and costs.
“The speed and precision at which APL delivers mission-tailored solutions is unmatched,” said a U.S. Strategic Command mission partner. “Their team doesn’t just bring technical knowledge; they bring contextual insight and agility we can count on.”
As DAFAs and CCMDs like DISA and STRATCOM prepare for future threats, APL stands ready, not just as a research institution, but as a force multiplier accelerating mission outcomes.
A key advantage of this partnership is the simplified procurement process enabled by the IDIQ contract, which slashes acquisition timelines and ensures rapid response to urgent warfighter needs.
