Organizations throughout the Department of Defense (DOD) are one step closer to ordering Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)-managed services and capabilities through a web-based platform.

The agency launched an updated and redesigned version of its services and capabilities catalog – a comprehensive listing of all current offerings – Feb. 28.

“Our mission partners immediately benefit from the ability to review updated service descriptions, which include ordering information,” said Stacey Monnin, who led the team responsible for updating and standardizing the presentation of all descriptions. “Going forward, all of the information contained in the catalog will be maintained and updated on a more frequent basis, ensuring we are providing users with current information.”

DISA.mil continues to serve as the main entry point for all things DISA, said Noreen Costello of the agency’s Office of Strategic Communication and Public Affairs.

“Mission and industry partners, job seekers, and taxpayers will continue to find accurate and timely information regarding our support for DOD on the site,” she said.

Costello explained the primary navigation on DISA.mil now provides users with three choices: About DISA, News and Events, and Services and Capabilities Catalog.

The updated services and capabilities catalog is hosted on a separate platform, known as DISA Storefront, said Barb Biebl of the Mission Partner Engagement Office.

“This is the first step in the agency’s initiative to offer automated ordering through a single platform. Ultimately, we want mission partners to be able to read a service description and immediately be able to initiate an order from the same web page,” she said.

Currently, mission partners can order 91 services and capabilities directly from the services and capabilities catalog. They include: commercial satellite communications, DOD Mobility solutions, data services, and voice services.

The objective of DISA Storefront is to automate, streamline, and simplify the mission partner ordering experience. It will also integrate with agency accounting, finance, contracting, and Software Defined Enterprise capabilities to automate provisioning, said Hal Herrick, the DISA Storefront program manager.

A classified iteration of the services and capabilities catalog on a classified DISA Storefront platform is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2019, he said.

Mission partners are encouraged to submit feedback regarding the new service and capabilities catalog layout and content to DISA via email to disa.meade.bd.mbx.disa-service-catalog-management@mail.mil.
