The Program Executive Office for SATCOM, Teleport, and Services (PEO-STS), Commercial Satellite Communication (COMSATCOM) Services Branch (CSB) is the Defense Information System Agency's (DISA) branch responsible for managing the acquisition of commercial satellite communications services within the Department of Defense (DoD). The CSB acts as the principal facilitator for the planning, acquisition, engineering, and management of commercial wideband and mobile SATCOM services (MSS). CSB provides the interface between the customer, the contracting agencies, and the commercial vendors. The principal mechanisms for acquiring wideband goods and services are the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Satellite Transmissions Services-Global (DSTS-G) contract and various DITCO contracts through the DITCO on-line ordering process for mobile SATCOM services. The costs of providing these services are paid from surcharges added to goods and services acquired under these contracts.
