DISA’S HIGHER EDUCATION CAREER FAIR THIS SATURDAY
Arlington – The Defense Information Service Agency DISA will hold its first "Higher Education Career Fair" in cooperation with Anne Arundel Community College from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009, at AACC's "Arundel Mills Center" located at 7009 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, Maryland, 21076.
Our goal for DISA's Higher Education Career Fair is to find and hire the best and brightest talent into DISA’s Intern Program, Student Temporary Employment Program (STEP), and Student Career Experience Program (SCEP),” said Jack Penkoske, DISA’s director of Manpower, Personnel and Security. He added, “I can’t emphasize enough just how important the programs are - these Intern, STEP, and SCEP employees are one of the strengths of DISA’s current workforce and the backbone of the Agency’s future.”
At the career fair, attendees will be able to directly interact with hiring managers from virtually every DISA directorate, and apply for positions such as IT specialists, program managers, budget analysts, telecommunications specialists, engineers, and more. DISA will also hold interviews and may make employment offers on site for certain positions. DISA personnel experts will also offer information sessions on the federal security clearance process and DISA's various leadership development programs. At the career fair, applicants can also apply for DISA intern positions and additional SCEP vacancies that will open that day. Further details on these positions are located at http://www.disa.mil/careers/entry_level.
As DISA continues planning its BRAC-mandated move to Ft. Meade, Maryland, beginning in October of 2010, it anticipates additional career opportunities in selected career fields.
