MISSION
The Team:- supports the DoD-wide information assurance (IA) education, training and awareness (ETA) program.
- develops and maintains curricula to support the DoD IA professional and user certification programs, and disseminates IA products to meet DoD-wide IA training and awareness requirements mandated in DoD I 8500.1 and DoDD 8500.2.
- develops and disseminates to the CoCOMs, Services, and agencies baseline IA training curricula, CD-ROMs and web based training products that meet DoD training standards.
- promotes DoD and other IA training and awareness materials Department-wide.
- works with the Federal community to enhance overall government IA training and awareness, and supports DoD and Federal outreach programs designed to promote IA in the private sector under Presidential Decision Directive 63 (PDD-63), Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP).
FUNCTIONS
- Promotes IA education, training and awareness products and initiatives that can enhance DoD and government- wide IA posture
- Participates in DoD, National, and International IA ETA and related forums
- Serves as a clearinghouse, disseminating IA ETA products and information DoD-wide, and facilitate product integration into CoCOM, Service, and agency IA programs
- Develops IA ETA products to satisfy DoD-wide IA professional and user certification requirements
- Assists other DoD components in developing and/or conducting IA training and awareness activities
- Provides a DoD-wide IA distributive learning capability
- Identifies gaps in IA ETA for professionals and develops curricula
- Distributes Education, Training and Awareness Products
- A training and awareness Computer-Based Training (CBT), Web-Based Training (WBT) and videos are available at no cost to U.S. Government personnel and their contractors.
- Training Delivery
- The IA ETA Branch has a deployable classroom to support delivery of hands-on system administrator training at your site. [traditional classroom courses target System Administrators (SA), Network Administrators (NA), IA Managers (IAM), IA Officers (IAO), system certifiers and Designated Approving Authority (DAA).
