MISSION
Identify, aid development of, promulgate, and catalog information technology standards and standards profiles to meet DISA product and service priorities and the needs of DoD, with emphasis on commercial and open systems standards.
FUNCTIONS
- Lead, coordinate, and influence information technology (IT) standards engineering efforts to address DOD and DISA requirements.
- Prioritize IT standards efforts and reallocate resources as necessary to support DISA prioritization.
- Coordinate DoD efforts to pursue open systems standards that meet DoD's greatest needs as reflected in DISA products and services.
- Maintain the DOD IT Standards Registry (DISR) and configuration manage the lifecycle of the standards cited within.
- Maintain the GIG Technical Guidance (GTG) database containing GIG Enterprise Service Profiles that detail the implementation of enterprise wide systems engineering guidance.
- Evaluate and advise on implementation of IT standards and key interface parameters.
- Identify and arbitrate resolution of interoperability and standards issues within DISA and, as resourced, DoD.
- Support the Joint Staff and Assistant Secretary Defense (National Information Infrastructure) in the assessment of all Information
- Technology & National Security Systems for interoperability and supportability certification.
