The
MILSATCOM Certification Process is a collaborative effort with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), The United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Strategic Forces Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT), and the Joint SATCOM Engineering Center (JSEC). All FDMA and IP modems as well as X- and Ka-band satellite earth terminals must be certified for use on DoD Wideband Satellite systems. This includes Wideband Global Satellites (WGS) and Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) satellites. Each modem and terminal is tested by JSEC against requirements specified by DISA and USASMDC/ARSTRAT to ensure interoperability and non-interference with other modems and terminals when used on DoD wideband systems.
