DESCRIPTION

 

Label Transport service is is a hierarchical VPN service that allows DISN customers to interconnect their MPLS networks and offer MPLS services over the DISN MPLS backbone thus eliminating the need for customers to build their own MPLS backbone. It is comparable to ATM and Low-Speed TDM (LSTDM) services. Offers Layer 2 VPN routing based on MPLS Layer 2 header label.

NOTE: Dependent on acquisition and installation of IPT-PE router infrastructure and requires a separate physical interface.

Standard Features

  • Provides a segmented IP service for customers utilizing an MPLS Layer 2 VPN. 
  • DISA managed VPN using Multi-Protocol Labeled Switching (MPLS) using MPLS header routing.
  • Provides privacy and limits access to IP data to VPN members only.
  • Connections available at Internet Protocol Transport – Provider Edge routers (IPT-PE).
