GCDS ENHANCES THE VIDEO VIEWING EXPERIENCE
GCDS HD Streaming is a high-performance, scalable, DoD enterprise solution that eases the burdens associated with streaming Flash video. The GCDS HD platform combines the power of GCDS's adaptive bit rate streaming capabilities for Adobe Flash with the performance and reach of the GCDS edge servers. This means content flows over a single network that delivers HD video with the fastest throughput rate to provide a great experience.
HOW IT WORKS:
Video is encoded in multiple bit-rates where it will be passed to a GCDS entry point for live video or uploaded to NetStorage for on demand viewing. Copies of the streams will be available on a middle tier of GCDS servers. These servers will simultaneously provide multiple access points for GCDS edge servers to pull video as well as storing live content on NetStorage to provide a DVR like experience. The GCDS Flash Player will automatically detect the quality of an end user’s connection and continually adjust the bit-rate of the stream to accommodate users with a wide variation of bandwidth and device capabilities. This will give the end users the highest quality video that they are capable of receiving while virtually eliminating buffering.
