ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE INITIATIVE (ESI)

PRINT PAGE Add This

The Enterprise Software Initiative (ESI) is a Department of Defense (DoD) effort to implement a software enterprise management process within the DoD. The goal is to create DoD-wide Enterprise Software Agreements (ESAs) that substantially reduce the cost of DoD common-use, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.

DISA’s Strategic Planning and Information (SPI)/Chief Information Office (CIO) representatives meet regularly with the DoD ESI co-chairs to pursue the establishment of software agreements using the methodology outlined in the DoD ESI Guidance and Policy Memorandum and to develop and execute Software Asset Management within DoD and DISA.
