COURSE OVERVIEW

This course is designed to help military departments and DoD agencies throughout the world to optimize their use of Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) Services. DISN Services are major components of the Global Information Grid (GIG) and building blocks for the C4I support to the nation’s warfighters offered by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

As net-centric warfare moves forward at a rapid pace, so does the need to move voice, data and video in a reliable, secure manner between tactical and strategic environments. Our nation’s success as a war-fighter and peace-keeper depends on how quickly and effectively it moves information from one point to another.

Data services, such as classified and unclassified email, and current/future offerings of real-time services, such as voice and video over IP, rely on a robust network infrastructure. DISA is committed to providing a strong and effective DISN. Customer networks throughout the world depend on DISN Services to communicate and transfer critical information every day.
