DISA and JTF GNO to Host Next Career Expo
DISA AND JTF-GNO TO HOST NEXT CAREER EXPO ON FORT MEADE
Arlington, Va., March 18, 2010 – In a move signaling that DISA’s relocation is little more than nine months away, DISA will host its next Career Expo at the McGill Training Center on Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. The event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., will be the fourth time that the Agency has hosted this type of event in Maryland and the first time it will be held on Fort Meade, DISA’s future home.
This event, co-sponsored by the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, will give U.S. citizens the opportunity to learn more about current and future employment opportunities with DISA and JTF-GNO and will focus on how attendees can build their federal resumes’, qualify for security clearances and take advantage of the organization’s award-winning quality of life programs. Special workshops will also be offered on DISA’s entry level intern and student employment programs. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring plenty of updated resumes since they may have the chance to speak directly with hiring managers, participate in on-the-spot interviews and perhaps receive tentative job offers.
DISA and JTF-GNO offer career opportunities that will vary over time according to organizational needs, from positions in information technology, engineering and telecommunications to contract management and administration, plus many others. DISA will begin moving to Ft. Meade in January 2011 and finish in July 2011.
DISA is a Department of Defense combat support agency. DISA provides real-time information technology and communications support to the President, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, the military services, and the combatant commands. The JTF-GNO, a component of United States Strategic Command, directs the operation and defense of the Global Information Grid (GIG) across strategic, operational, and tactical boundaries in support of the U.S. Department of Defense's full spectrum of war fighting, intelligence, and business operations.
