The Forecast to Industry Day program on Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., will feature a series of briefings by DISA senior staff, addressing specific tactical acquisition issues, requirements, and planned procurements for the 2012/2013 fiscal years.
The Wednesday program is designed with the interests of our industry partners in mind — those who are currently doing business with DISA and those who endeavor to do business with DISA.
Participants in Forecast to Industry may register and participate in the entire DISA Customer & Industry Forum, Aug. 15 to 18, or they may choose to register at a special, one-day rate of $125 and participate only in the Forecast to Industry on Aug. 17.
Everyone is strongly encouraged to consider the advantages and overall, increased value of participating in the entire Customer & Industry Forum. One of the reasons Baltimore was selected as the site of the 2011 forum was to make it easier and less expensive for potential participants in the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore metropolitan areas to fully engage in the entire forum.
Forecast to Industry is hosted by Kathleen Miller, director of DISA’s Procurement Directorate and chief of the Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DITCO). The keynote speaker for the day is Paul Maritz, CEO of VMware. A panel of DISA senior leaders will discuss issues pertaining to requirements and acquisitions. The rest of the program consists of high-level briefings by DISA senior officials, including program executive officers, about DISA’s requirements, contracts, and business opportunities.
Forecast to Industry registrants are welcome to participate in the networking lunch in the AFCEA's Technology Showcase exhibit hall and the AFCEA Networking Event from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
