As a Student Trainee (Contracting), the incumbent of this position would performs basic developmental assignments providing support and assistance to, contract specialists, contract administrators, and other personnel in connection with the particular segment of Contracting Division to which assigned. Works closely with higher graded personnel in performing support tasks in the procurement field and similar to the following: Assists in expediting and following up on deliveries due on purchase orders and delivery orders. Helps assemble invitations to bid, checking specifications for obvious errors and ensuring that standard or special provisions are current and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Student Trainee (Budget Analyst, 599)
As a Student Trainee (Budget Analyst), observes and assists analysts to develop skill in budget administration functions and the budget process, e.g., budget formulation, justification, presentation, and execution. As a Student Trainee (Resource Analyst), the incumbent performs duties which include on-the-job training, work assignments, and other developmental activities, relative to incumbent's academic and work background. As a Student Trainee (Visual Information), this position involves assignments which are selected to broaden the incumbent's ability to select visual materials and to train the employee for work at the next higher level. Assist in designing and producing slides for presentation through the use of the computer graphics system. Slides are used for presentation in meetings, information briefings, speeches, and other presentations. Uses related peripherals such as the scanner, printer and related software. Assists in implementing the Activity's style, color format and standards in visuals. As a Student Trainee IT (Computer Science), the incumbent works with and serves and assists computer scientists of higher grade. Required to have a basic knowledge of computer theory, algorithms, data structures, programming concepts and languages, and computer architecture, with a basic working knowledge of computer hardware capabilities. The Student Trainee assists junior and senior computer scientists in developing new and improved concepts, principles, and techniques that will advance the body of knowledge of computer science, and adapt and apply advanced computer science methods and techniques to solve complex computer processing requirements.

Student Trainee (Electronics Engineer, 2299)
As a Student Trainee (Electronics Engineer), the incumbent applies basic principles of electronics, elementary engineering theories and readily available data to tasks supporting DISA-managed and maintained systems and networks. As an Student Trainee (Electronics Engineer), the incumbent will perform fundamentals and principles of professional engineering, computer hardware, systems software, and computer system architecture and integration, and mathematics, including calculus, probability, statistics, discrete structures, and modern algebra.
