MISSION
Establish, oversee, and improve systems engineering processes for the Program Executive Office for Satellite Communications, Teleport, and Services (PEO-STS) in accordance with Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics policy. Ensure application of systems engineering and integration, establish synergy and commonality, and drive efficiency across all programs within the PEO-STS Directorate.
FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the application of systems engineering processes across the acquisition life cycle of the program executive office’s (PEO) portfolio elements and serve the integrating mechanism for balanced solutions addressing capability needs, design considerations, and constraints as well as limitations imposed by technology, budget, and schedule.
- Provide technical oversight and engineering expertise to the activities within the portfolio.
- Responsible to the program executive officer for the accountability to establish, approve, and judge conformance of products and technical processes to technical requirements and policy during all phases of product development, acquisition, and sustainment for the portfolio.
- Manage technical dependencies of the portfolio consistent with other related department and agency programs and activities and ensure that technical activities and documentation are aligned with agency guidelines.
- Represent the PEO at technical forums, conferences, panels, etc.
- Advise the PEO-STS program executive officer on all relevant technical aspects associated with the PEO or the agency.
- Establish, oversee, and improve systems engineering processes for the PEO.
