MISSION
Coordinates and standardizes service operations in computer graphics, multi-media imagery, graphics, printing and reproduction. Serves as visual information manager and represents DISA on all Department of Defense visual information policy committees.
FUNCTIONS
Visual Information (VI) provides multi-media production design, in-house printing and reproduction services, and acts as a liaison between DISA and the Defense Automated Printing Service. It maintains and operates a production graphics center, which provides digital slide imaging and original graphics design. Desktop publishing is available including layout and color separations, poster and banner making, engraving, and engineering drafting. Exhibit displays and art for promotional advertisement, marketing, and public release are also produced.
VI also provides digital/electronic photographic services with small and medium format cameras, plus audio and video systems implementation, video production, editing, and duplicating services.
Nonlinear editing systems using high end hardware and state of the art software are used to build high quality videos and animations. VI also provides television engineering assistance to DISA organizations and projects.
